Hyundai i30: coming soon

Hyundai has confirmed pricing and specifications for its i30 hatch, a Golf/Focus-sized model which goes on sale in the UK 1st September.

The i30 - first of a new family of Hyundais to follow a new naming strategy, with i10 and i70 models promised next - replaces both the Accent and the Elantra. It shares much of its underpinnings with the Kia Cee'd, and will come with 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol engines, and 1.6 and 2.0-litre CRDi diesels. Estate versions, to be called i30 CW, follow next year.

Pricing starts from £10,995 (1.4 Comfort) and all models will have stability control, traction control, full-length curtain airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and active front head restraints, front fog lights, remote locking, heated door mirrors, air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, 15-inch alloy wheels, tinted glass, a CD player and audio system with MP3/iPod inputs, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
